According to this report we are in the center of the 8th most dangerous neighborhood in the USA… but we no longer want to continue to refer it as such because we believe that God has incredible dreams for this neighborhood. Instead of ‘graveyard’ and ‘barren wasteland’ we believe that it will be a place of culture, life, and restoration. God can turn a desert into pools of water and a parched land into springs of water (Psalm 107:35).

We want to invest our time, talent, and resources in a way that is really going to make a long term transforming difference here. So how do we combat an entitlement mentality and break the cycle of poverty? How do we start a grass roots movement that is led by the people themselves? How do we compel the body of Christ to get out of their church buildings and into the streets? God help us! Right now as the Pier we are shoring up and strengthening the ministries that we already have such as food distribution, after school tutoring for kids, and English as a second language. We are also doing research and endeavoring to start new ministries through partnerships that will be the most relevant to our part of Las Vegas.
