• Over 530,000 children are in foster care.
• Average length of stay in foster care for a child is 11 months.
• Drug abuse among parents is the number one reason children are put into foster care.

Nevada Statistics:

• There are 3,599 children in foster care.
• Clark County houses over 2000 of those children.
• 800 of those children need permanent homes.
• These numbers are increasing every day!

In Nevada, after aging out of foster care (100 young adults surveyed):

• 18% have lived on streets,
• 19% have slept in homeless shelters, and
• 41% have spent time in jail.
