Although varying widely, all YWAM projects and events help form one of three main strands which weave together throughout the mission. The first of these is training and education. The other two are Mercy Ministries and Evangelism & Frontier Missions.

Mercy Ministries
YWAM mercy ministries meet some of the practical and physical needs of over 400,000 people annually. Through these YWAM has gained the status of an officially recognized relief organization with the United Nations. Amongst other long-term operations, YWAM also has a fleet of five "Mercy Ships" that are involved in all kinds of emergency and medical services on each continent.YWAM Las Vegas mercy ministries include The Pier.
Evangelism & Frontier Missions
Evangelism (and frontier missions) is an integral part of both training and mercy ministries, but also an emphasis of its own. Drama, music, performing arts and sports camps are among the creative tools YWAM staff use to share their faith in a way that makes sense to their audience - whether it be urban teenagers, elderly refugees, or an unreached people group. YWAM also engages in church planting, in coordination with churches and denominations, or on its own among people groups without a pre-existing church.YWAM Las Vegas local evangelism ministries include Lost World Rescue and X-alt while international missions is primarily through the DTS program.
